Dear
friends and colleagues:
We
are pleased once again to inform you of new updates on the CeBASE
website (http://www.cebase.org)
and other relevant news over
the last months.
First, however, we regret to inform you that
our primary funding for the CeBASE website has come to an end.
Maintenance of the website has been supported since 2000 as part of
basic research funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation,
and we would like to once again acknowledge their support over this
time and our gratitude. We believe (and hope you agree) that thanks
to this funding the CeBASE project has been able to create a good
community of researchers with similar interests. Due to the interest
shown over time in the CeBASE website we have decided to keep it up
and operational to the best of our ability. However, since this
activity will not be funded, we won’t be sending the newsletter
bi-monthly, but we will notify you of new interesting things as they
come up in the future. As always, we would continue to appreciate
any contributions of relevant content that you would like to
provide, and will do our best to respond in
a timely manner.
Our
new additions to the website for the last
2 months include:
- Results of the workshop: "What we have learned
about Agile Methods" are now available. The workshop was hosted by
Dr. Forrest Shull (CeBASE and Fraunhofer Center Maryland) and Dr.
Laurie Williams (North Carolina State University) at the Agile
Development Conference (http://www.agiledevelopmentconference.com/)
that was held in Salt Lake City, UT from June 25 to June 28, 2003.
The goal of the workshop was to signify closure of the series of
eWorkshops in Agile Methods. Using some of the heuristics that
resulted from the eWorkshops as a starting point, the participants
had the opportunity to contribute their own experiences to refine or
expand the list of heuristics. Check out the results at: http://www.cebase.org/ADCexchange/
.
- The
subset of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Software
Engineering Laboratory (SEL) database is now also available at the
CeBASE website in MSAccess format. The subset includes defect data
of more than 200 projects over more than 15 years. A document
describing the tables and columns of tables included in the subset
was also added. For more details check http://www.cebase.org/www/Resources/SEL/
.
This update and the future ones will be
archived in: http://www.cebase.org/www/AboutCeBASE/newsletter/index.htm
If
you don’t want to receive future updates, or, if you received
multiple updates, please send a message to pcosta@fc-md.umd.edu
.
On
behalf of the CeBASE team, thanks to all of you for your support and interest
over this time!
Patricia Costa
